As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Lucas Hernández has told Bayern Munich that he wishes to leave the club in order to join French champions PSG.
The 27-year-old is out of contract with the Bavarian side in the summer of 2024, and he will not sign a new deal. Bayern have given Hernández the green light to leave the record champions this summer.
However, Bayern are yet to receive an offer from PSG, who are the club looking to sign the French international. Die Rekordmeister are hoping to receive €60m plus bonus payments in order to prize Hernández away from the Allianz Arena.
This is the result of a meeting held earlier this afternoon between the Bayern board and Hernández, who had been given until today to make a decision on his future. There was a three-year contract on offer to the defender until the summer of 2027, but he has declared his desire to leave.
With Hernández seemingly ready to depart from Bavaria, Bayern will now have to make a difficult choice surrounding Benjamin Pavard. Selling Pavard and Hernández in the same transfer window was not an option for Bayern this summer. However, with both players in high demand and asking to leave the club, they may be left with little choice.
