Liverpool to scout Nicolo Barella in Milan derby in UCL

Liverpool are planning to scout Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella in the Champions League semi-final clash against AC Milan, claims Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Barella has emerged as one of the top midfield targets for the Reds, who scouted him during last month’s Serie A game against Lazio.

The Italian midfielder has been one of the best performers for Inter this season, racking up eight goals and nine assists in all competitions.

He has also been the driving force behind Inter’s excellent run in the Champions League, scoring against Barcelona in the group stage as well as in both legs of the quarter-finals against Benfica.

Barella’s form has turned the heads of Liverpool, who are aware of Inter’s financial struggles, which could force them to sell some of their prized assets.

However, the Nerazzurri reportedly consider the 26-year-old untouchable and a pivotal figure for the future.

Another Inter player who is chased by top clubs is Andre Onana, who has had an impressive debut season at San Siro and is arguably one of the best keepers in the Champions League.

Chelsea and Manchester United are keeping close tabs on his situation, with Inter open to selling the Cameroonian keeper in the summer.

The Reds are not only focused on Barella but have plenty of names on their wishlist, with the midfield reinforcements turning out to be a priority in the summer transfer window.

Bright & Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister could be the first of many signings, with Liverpool reportedly in advanced talks to secure his deal.

The Reds are also working on a deal to sign Sporting CP midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

Liverpool’s late turnaround – six consecutive wins – has seen them reduce the gap to one point with fourth-placed Manchester United, who have played one game less than the Merseysiders.
