Liverpool have been in contact with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko’s camp over the past couple of days, journalist Sebastien Vidal has claimed.
The Premier League winners have reportedly identified the ‘world-class’ Slovenia international as a ‘serious’ market option if Darwin Nunez leaves amid strong interest from Napoli.
Leipzig have set an asking price of £78m for Sesko this summer and have seen interest cool from Arsenal as a result, with the Gunners now focused on pursuing Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres.
Sesko, praised as a ‘goal machine’, was heavily linked with a Premier League move last summer before signing a five-year deal with the German club.

In regular contact with the 22-year-old’s camp
According to Vidal, Liverpool have earmarked Sesko as a ‘serious’ striker option this summer, with Leipzig demanding £78m for the ‘world-class’ forward.
Liverpool have been one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the market this summer, spending close to £200m on the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.
The Reds are expected to bring in a new number nine as well and have made a £120m approach to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United on Tuesday, with another reported target, Hugo Ekitike, wanted by the Magpies.
The Eintracht Frankfurt striker has been the subject of a club-record £69.5m bid from Newcastle United, who are now awaiting a response from the German side.
Ekitike was heavily linked with a move to Anfield earlier this summer, alongside Crystal Palace ace Jean-Philippe Mateta, who remains a target.
