The Icelandic Football Federation has announced that Lille OSC’s Hákon Arnar Haraldsson (21) has been injured while on international duty with the national team. The attacking midfielder has left the Iceland training camp after suffering a foot injury.
According to further information from L’Équipe, there is an expectation that Haraldsson will be unavailable for several weeks while he recovers from his injury. The French outlet reports that he may have suffered a fracture in the foot, but more will be known once he undergoes an MRI on Monday.
This will be an unfortunate blow to Lille as the attacking midfielder has had a strong start to the season. Haraldsson has featured in every game that Lille have played so far and the club will hope that he will be available ahead of the Champions League fixtures against Sporting CP on the 17th of September and Real Madrid on the 2nd of October.
