A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has made crystal clear his bemusement with being left off the shortlist of nominees for the next Ballon d’Or.
The 30 candidates to be named world football’s best player were of course named on Wednesday evening.
And Carlo Ancelotti’s Champions League holders found themselves front and centre, boasting no fewer than seven contenders for the prize.
Whilst the likes of Vinícius Jr. and Kylian Mbappé made their way onto the shortlist, however, one Real Madrid star who was nowhere to be seen was Rodrygo.
And as much, evidently, did not sit overly well with the Brazilian himself…
Taking to his official Instagram account in the aftermath of the Ballon d’Or nominees being announced, the versatile frontman unveiled a series of photos of himself, celebrating goals and lifting trophies.
And the post was accompanied by a simple caption, in the form of a laughing emoji, and a shrugging one:
