RB Leipzig have won the DFB-Pokal twice in a row, but after Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to Wolfsburg, they won’t go all the way this year.
Speaking after the game, Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacs said the result was hard to swallow.
“We knew it was going to be a tough game. Wolfsburg defended well and we didn’t create many chances. We controlled the game even when we went down to ten men, but we couldn’t find any space to create dangerous opportunities,” Gulacsi said, as quoted by RB Leipzig.
“I’m really disappointed because we know how good it feels to play in the final. We’ve been to Berlin four times in the last five years, so it’s really, really tough to take.”
RB Leipzig will have the chance to bounce back when they take on Mainz in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
