A rumored loan switch for disaffected RB Leipzig wingback Angelino has been completed.

RB Leipzig, Galatasaray Istanbul, and AS Roman have finalized the deal that will see Spanish wingback Angelino move from the Turkish Süper Lig to the Italian Serie A. Most all German footballing media sources – including Germany’s preeminent footballing publication – report that Angelino was moved in order to help the Turkish club avoid a mandatory purchase obligation that would have been triggered if the 27-year-old reached 20 league deployments.
Angelino appeared 19 times for the Turkish champions. The new loan arrangement will see him play for his new Italian club through the end of the season. Sky Germany reports that Roma have agreed to take on the player’s full salary and agreed to a €5 million purchase clause. It remains unclear as to whether the Galician has any future sporting prospects at Leipzig. Angelino’s replacement at RB, David Raum, may eventually need competition.
