Not long after finalizing the permanent transfer of striker Alexander Sørloth, it appears that Germany’s RB Leipzig and Spain’s Real Sociedad are set to do business again. Basque newspaper “El Diaro Vasco” reported that the German Red Bulls and the La Liga side were in negotiations for a loan-out of want-away striker André Silva yesterday. Germany’s preeminent footballing publication now confirms the report.
After tearing a muscle bundle in mid-June, Silva has been unable to train with his current German team during this summer’s training camp. The 53-times-capped Portuguese international should remain sidelined through mid-September. It’s nevertheless still possible that a loan-deal would constitute a low-risk option for all parties involved. Unable to establish himself in Saxony, Silva’s desire to move to a new club is well established.
