RB Leipzig and Spanish side Real Sociedad San Sebastian have wrapped up their latest piece of transfer business. The German Red Bulls loaned out another one of their high-priced and underperforming strikers to the La Liga outfit on Wednesday. Portuguese forward André Silva will initially join the Basque club on a one-year-loan with a purchase option.
Silva hopes to replicate the success of former RB transfer bust Alexander Sørloth, who regained his scoring touch during a second loan-stint in Spain last year. Sørloth eventually moved to Sociedad on a permanent basis for a reported €10 million earlier this summer. Amid 31 Bundesliga appearances – during which he only went the full 90 minutes five times last season – Silva scored four goals and pocketed seven assists.
