Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams is ‘going to be a massive player’ in years to come, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The 23-year-old only signed for the Whites last summer after completing a £20 million switch from RB Leipzig, but his impressive displays for club and country have seen him linked with an imminent exit.
Leeds United transfer news – Tyler Adams
Back in October, Football Insider claimed that Manchester United are ‘keeping close tabs’ on Adams, while other reports have suggested Serie A giants Inter Milan are also interested.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed in his CaughtOffside column that the Nerazzurri are ‘not in talks’ for the USA international and that Leeds ‘will try to keep him’ at the club.
“Inter Milan are not in talks to sign Tyler Adams as things stand,” Romano said. “I’m sure Leeds will try to keep him; they love Tyler as player but also, I’m told they love his attitude in the dressing room.

“It always depends on the proposals, we will see; too early to say. But I think he’s very good player with a top future.”
Jones has also informed GiveMeSport previously that a move to Old Trafford is ‘not on at the moment’, meaning Leeds should be able to hang on to Adams until the end of the season at least.
What has Jones said about Adams?
In an interview with GMS, Jones admitted that he reckons Adams will be talked about in ‘really high regard over the next five years’ and that Leeds will be ‘desperate’ to retain his services.

He said: “He’s going to be a massive player in the game and someone we talk about in really high regard over the next five years.
“I think by the end of this season, Leeds might be in a bit of a fight to keep hold of him, but they’ll be desperate to win that fight.”
How well is Adams playing?
Adams, who earns £57,000-per-week, doesn’t hog the headlines with goals and assists, but his underlying numbers highlight the crucial role that he performs for any side he plays for.
As per FBref, the defensive-minded dynamo has ranked in the 93rd percentile for both tackles and blocks amongst his positional peers over the last year, illustrating why he is held in such high regard.
Adams also shone for his country at the World Cup, playing every minute as they reached the last 16 of the showpiece event.
The USA captain averaged 2.8 tackles and one interception per game out in Qatar, as per WhoScored, placing him in the top two for both metrics amongst his international teammates, justifying the praise he received.
