Serie A giants Lazio are now set to seal a move for New York City FC striker Valentin Castellanos.
Il Messaggero confirm that the deal is done and Lazio will pay €20 million including bonuses for the Argentine. He will undergo a medical in Rome on Monday before heading to the club’s pre-season camp.
The striker’s entourage closed the deal with Lazio late last night as they were present in Italy to seal it. Castellanos will be Lazio’s rotation option upfront alongside Ciro Immobile, who has made it clear that he will not listen to any offers that come from Saudi Arabia.
Saudi offered €35 million on a two-year deal to the striker but is refusing everything out of his love for the Roman side, with Claudio Lotito making it clear that he will not accept offers for the Azzurri forward, who seems destined to stay and rotate upfront with the incoming Argentine.
