Lazio have opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the potential signing of Leandro Paredes, as per Sky Sport Italia.
Paredes appears to have no future at the French capital, and his next destination remains a subject of intense speculation.
Reports have been circulating that Galatasaray are pushing to sign the Argentine World Cup winner, however, Lazio have now entered the fray.
The Biancocelesti are in the market for midfield reinforcements following the departure of their star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Al Hilal in a €40 million deal.
The Capital giants are looking to learn about the transfer fee and the wage demands, with Paredes’ contract expiring in the summer of 2024.
Paredes had a mixed season last term, winning the World Cup in Qatar with La Albiceleste but endured an underwhelming loan spell at Juventus.
The 29-year-old, who has made 117 appearances for PSG, will be eager to breathe new life into his career following his decline in form at club level in recent years.
Unlike Milinkovic-Savic, Paredes is more of a deep-lying playmaker who is good with his defensive and passing skills.
Maurizio Sarri’s side have also identified Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci as a potential target, with the Italian youngster turning the heads of European heavyweights following his excellent 2022/23 campaign.
Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski has also emerged as a top target, but the capital giants face competition from Saudi clubs.
Lazio are also actively scouring the market for attacking enforcements and have lined up two potential targets: Taty Castellanos of New York City FC and Metz striker Georges Mikautadze.
Both the strikers have been touted as the successor to Ciro Immobile, who has been linked with an exit amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
Highly-rated Swiss striker Zeki Amdouni, who was impressive in the recent U21 European Championship, is also on Biancocelesti’s wishlist.
