It was a day and night to remember in Abu Dhabi for Lando Norris as he fended off Max Verstappen to win the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship, ending the dominance of the Red Bull ace, who had won it four years straight.
Heading into the final race of the season, Norris knew what he had to do. Finish on the podium and the title was his. And that’s what he did. Just. The Brit secured P3 in the race, behind the aforementioned Verstappen and his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, who finished second, losing out on the title himself in the process as well.
As he crossed the finishing line, Norris let all his emotions out, instantly bursting into tears over his team radio, full well knowing what he had just achieved. It was a long, tough season for the 26-year-old, who somehow found a way to let the threatening Verstappen back in the title race after it looked like it was going to be a two-horse race between himself and Piastri.
In the end, though, he got the job done, which meant only one thing… time to celebrate.
Lando Norris’ World Championship Party Celebrations
Everyone knows what happens after you win the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship, you hit up Abu Dhabi and celebrate long into the night, and that’s exactly what Norris did with his closest people.
However, it wasn’t all smiles and laughs throughout the evening, as footage has since emerged on social media of the F1 driver appearing to tell someone to leave the party.
Originally posted on Metro Sport’s TikTok page, the clip in question found its way to X, where it was shared with the caption: “…lol.”
At the start of the video, though, it has a headline from Metro Sport which reads: “Lando Norris appears to kick a fan out of his F1 title-winning party for repeatedly flashing a camera in his face.”
Fans React to Lando Norris Clip
It seems that most fans are defending Norris for his actions, and actually agree with him for taking action against the person in the clip that was getting too close to him and flashing a camera and a light straight into his face.
One user wrote: “At least turn the flash off if you’re right in front of his face lmao,” while another said: “Deada** I’d be mad as hell too if someone tried to blind me with that bright a** light.”
Another account on the social media platform stated that apparently the person in question was asked repeatedly to stop doing it, but they refused.
“People are saying apparently this person had kept doing it, and it wasn’t the first time,” they wrote.
Despite the minor sour note on the evening, we’re sure Lando Norris had a great evening celebrating his maiden Formula 1 title, even if someone did their best to try and ruin it for him.
