La Liga side eyeing move for Andoni Iraola if Bournemouth spell comes to an end

Andoni Iraola was one of the top managers in La Liga over the past three seasons, playing attractive football and achieving above expectations with a side that he had built at Rayo Vallecano. However after making the move to Bournemouth, things have not gone so well.

The Cherries are 19th in the Premier League, winless and with Iraola’s fate if not decided, very much on the line. After defeat to Wolves at the weekend, his job could be decided by a clash with Burnley this coming weekend.

His potential availability has sparked interest in Spain already. According to ED, Celta Vigo are monitoring events on the South Coast of England. Rafael Benitez was appointed in the summer as a major coup for the Galician side, but with Os Celeste in the relegation zone themselves, things are far from well at Balaidos. If results continue to evade Benitez, then Iraola could become their top target to replace him.

It would be no surprise if other sides also kept tabs on Iraola. He was heavily linked with the Villarreal job last season, but instead the Yellow Submarine decided to stand by Quique Setien. After he was sacked, Pacheta has failed to secure much improvement, and he too could be on the brink depending on the next few games.
