Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé (24) has been named the Ligue 1 Player of the Month for October. It is the tenth time that he has been awarded the prize and he becomes the first player in France’s top-flight to reach this symbolic milestone.
Mbappé beat PSG teammate Warren Zaïre-Emery and AS Monaco’s Aleksandr Golovin to win the award. During October, Mbappé scored three goals and registered one assist in three Ligue 1 matches. Les Parisiens won all three of their matches in Ligue 1 last month (against Stade Rennais, RC Strasbourg Alsace, and Stade Brestois).
Mbappé leading Golden Boot race
Mbappé is currently the top scorer in Ligue 1 with 13 goals, despite missing the first game of the season against FC Lorient. His closest competitor for the Golden Boot, Montpellier HSC’s Akor Adams, is six goals behind.
PSG made a slow start to the Ligue 1 season but hit the front for the first time thanks to last weekend’s victory over Stade de Reims. Crucially, OGC Nice dropped points against Montpellier.
