L’Équipe reports that two Bundesliga outfits are interested in securing the services of Ligue 2 striker Timothé Nkada. Hoffenheim and Köln are apparently interested in the Rodez AF forward, who just completed a highly successful season in the French second division. Nkada scored 17 goals and contributed five assists for Le Raf last year.
The French source claimed that both German top division sides have enquired about the 25-year-old. Nkada has pumped up his estimated market value from €400,000 to €2.5m in the last calendar year. L’Équipe suggests that a transfer in the €2m-€3m range could be possible.
Köln would appear to be the likelier destination for the former France U20 international, particularly in light of the fact that Hoffenheim find themselves dealing with the exigent need to reduce their squad. The newly-promoted Bundesliga side possess just about enough financial wherewithal to make it happen.
Some football fans may have forgotten that it was Köln who initially gave current Borussia Dortmund star striker Serhou Guirassy a chance in the Bundesliga back in 2016. Prior to Guirassy’s move to the cathedral city, Guirassy too had mostly only featured as a Ligue 2 player.
