Sky Germany reports that Union Berlin have already found their replacement for the departing Leonardo Bonucci in Hoffenheim’s Kevin Vogt.
The 32-year-old will join Union for around €2m and will sign a long-term contract at the club, the final details of the deal will be finalised today. This will bring to an end an eight-year spell with Hoffenheim having joined the club in 2016 from 1.FC Köln for €3m.
Vogt will be the replacement for Bonucci who is set to leave Union after only six months and move to Fenerbache in Turkey. The Italian failed to establish himself in the Union starting 11 and apart from a strong game against Napoli in the Champions League, Bonucci never looked the part.
Union are currently 15th in the Bundesliga this season and have struggled, their form resulted in previously untouchable coach Urs Fischer departing and Union bringing in Nenad Bjelica and have seen a slight upturn in results before the winter break.
