On Tuesday, Borussia Dortmund announced the decision to part ways with Slaven Stanisic as sports coordinator with immediate effect.
The decision was announced after reports emerged that Stanic had criticized and insulted BVB coach Edin Terzic.
However, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebatian Kehl has now played down these reports, stating that there were other reasons for Stanic’s dismissal.
“Let me say one thing first: I’ve read in the course of the reports about Slaven Stanic that there are supposedly different factions at the club. There is only one faction – and that is Borussia Dortmund. Everyone here is working for the success of this very special club,” Kehl told Kicker.
“We recently had intensive talks in which we both came to the conclusion that we were no longer convinced that we could work successfully in this constellation. We have therefore mutually decided to part ways,” he added.
“We’ve known each other for a long time, we’re on good terms and we’ll certainly stay in touch. Our focus now is on Wednesday’s game in Stuttgart and the other tasks ahead of us this year.”
Stanic only took over the role of sports coordinator in May.
