Germany’s main sporting tabloid reports that VfB Stuttgart have found a taker for attacking midfielder Philipp Klement in the 2. Bundesliga.

If Germany’s “Sport Bild” is to be believed, 29-year-old attacker Philipp Klement should spend a second consecutive season in Germany’s second division. Recently returned from a stint on loan with SC Paderborn 07 during the 2021/22 “Rück-runde”, Klement remains largely without prospects on Stuttgart’s current roster. The veteran has not appeared even on the bench for the first-team squad.
Sport Bild writes that 1. FC Kaiserslautern boss Thomas Hengen believes that the former FCK academy man will fit in well back in the Pfalz. Another loan-out is naturally out of the question as Klement sits on an expiring contract. One potential obstacle to a sale nevertheless remains the fact that Klement does still maintain a €1 million estimated market value in the latest transfermarkt listings.
The recently promoted Rote Teufel are already operating with an estimated negative transfer balance of some minus €200,000 following a very busy offseason. It remains to be seen whether Henge can scrape the requisite capital together.
