Fabrizio Romano reports that Julian Nagelsmann is no longer in the running for the vacant Tottenham Hotspur job.
Tottenham have decided to no longer proceed in negotiations with Nagelsmann as things stand. The Athletic adds that the club had never interviewed the German. Tottenham will continue their search for a new head coach after sacking Antonio Conte in March.
Nagelsmann was only willing to consider the job if there was a new sporting director brought in who would support his ideas.
During his time at Bayern Munich, Nagelsmann won the Bundesliga but struggled in the cup competitions having experienced embarrassing eliminations against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the DFB Pokal and Villarreal in the Champions League.
The 35-year-old was sacked by Bayern in March and replaced with Thomas Tuchel as the board feared the club would miss out on the treble. Since Tuchel has taken charge, Bayern have been eliminated from the DFB Pokal and Champions League but are still in contention for the league.
