With Christophe Galtier’s two-season contract now terminated a year before it was due to expire, Paris Saint-Germain are expected to unveil their new head coach shortly. Although there had been little doubt about the former Lille manager’s future for some time now, the Ligue 1 champions were ostensibly waiting for the end of the season to make their move.
L’Équipe indicate this afternoon that former Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann is expected to arrive in the French capital within the next 24 hours in order to continue discussions around his potential hiring, with initial talks having begun weeks ago.
The 35-year-old had been sacked by the Bavarians midway through the season, despite beating his prospective next employer in the Champions League knockout stages. A potential tandem with France legend Thierry Henry as assistant manager has been put forward, and the two have recently met to discuss a possible collaboration in the PSG dugout. They are expected to do so again in the near future.
