Jude Bellingham will reject a contract extension from Borussia Dortmund, according to Bild.
Bellingham’s current deal expires in 2025 and a new contract would see the England international sign until 2026 with a significantly salary increase to a reported €14m. Per the report, Bellingham is said to have made the decision for himself.
This comes after it was reported last week that Spanish side Real Madrid were close to completing a deal for Bellingham with both parties nearing an agreement on personal terms.
Per Bild, Bellingham (19) can expect to earn a salary up to €20m at Real Madrid with a contract until 2029 – a figure that Borussia Dortmund are unable to compete with.
It’s still possible that Bellingham could remain at the Westfalenstadion for another season but should the Englishman leave in the summer, Borussia Dortmund can expect to receive a fee of around €150m.
Bellingham was influential in BVB’s 6-0 win against Wolfsburg on Sunday which has moved the club back to within one point of leaders Bayern Munich with just three games remaining.
