Jude Bellingham makes Real Madrid goalscoring history

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham became the first player in the club’s history to score in each of his first four Champions League matches, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s previous record.

Bellingham has made a dream start to life in Spain, scoring 15 goals in 16 matches. Since his €106m move from Borussia Dortmund, the midfielder has won two of the most prestigious individual awards for players under the age of 21 in the form of the Kopa Trophy and the Golden Boy.

Earlier this season, the Englishman matched Ronaldo’s record goalscoring start in La Liga by scoring four times in his first three games. However, the 20-year-old has now made even more history by becoming the first player to score in each of his first four games in the European competition.

Wearing the iconic number five shirt, Bellingham has already surpassed Zinedine Zidane’s highest single-season goal tally for Los Blancos. Playing in the number ten position, the British player got in behind the Napoli defence before heading the ball into the back of the net.

The England international also set up Joselu with a phenomenal pass deep into injury time to secure Madrid’s 4-2 win over Napoli. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Bellingham believes he was born to play for the Spanish giants and is enjoying the pressure of representing the historic club.

He said: “Yes, I think so too. I love the responsibility. My teammates help me a lot also.”
