Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee has a release clause in his contract which was supposed to favour Bayern Munich but it now seems as if the clause could favor other clubs as well.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that while Bologna were hoping to earn €60 million from Zirkzee’s sale, it seems as if it would not be the case for the Rossoblu. The release clause of €40 million, which was said to apply for only Bayern Munich, is now said to apply for all the clubs and the Bavarian giants only have the first option to move for him or not.
This means that since Bayern aren’t interested in him, other clubs could end up exercise that release clause. The plans for the amount were laid down as far back as two years ago and the expectation is that Zirkzee would demand about €4 million to €5 million per season from potential suitors, with English clubs linked with a move.
