A historic milestone for Joshua Kimmich. Starting against Stuttgart, the 29-year-old made his 400th Bayern Munich appearance since his move to the Rekordmeister from tonight’s opposition in 2015.
Since making his debut in August 2015 under Pep Guardiola in a 2-1 win against Augsburg, only Thomas Müller has made more appearances (411) for Bayern Munich in nine years. At 20, Kimmich replaced Bayern legend Philipp Lahm that day, and it’s sufficient to say that the German has been pivotal to the club’s success in recent years, just as Lahm was.
Kimmich has eight Bundesliga titles to his name, three German Cups, six German Supercups, one Champions League, one Club World Cup and one UEFA Supercup.
Bayern Munich have already opened contract talks with Kimmich to extend the player’s deal beyond 2025 and he would be open to staying at the Allianz Arena, there are still some details to clarify before a final decision is made.
