An insight into the plans of Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti for the club’s upcoming meeting with Rayo Vallecano has today been provided.
The info comes courtesy of Marca, who have revealed the latest on Ancelotti’s intentions when it comes to his starting XI.
Whilst the majority of Los Blancos’ side will all but pick itself at the Estadio de Vallecas, one major decision remains to be made.
This comes in the form of the question mark surrounding who will join Rodrygo and Vinícius Jr. in attack.
The two candidates to fill the role, of course, come in the form of Joselu, and Brahim Díaz.
Whilst the latter would look the obvious choice, fresh off a match-winning display in midweek against RB Leipzig, Díaz also picked up a minor fitness problem at the Red Bull Arena.
With Jude Bellingham also sidelined at present, boss Ancelotti is understandably cautious when it comes to throwing the former AC Milan man back in from the off on Sunday, despite the fact that he has trained as normal over the last two days.
Should Real’s boss ultimately conclude that the risk outweighs the potential benefit, a tweak in system will in turn be implemented, with Joselu to be afforded his latest chance to spearhead the attack.
