José Mourinho reveals his appreciation for Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham’s trademark celebration

Former Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has provided an insight into why he is a huge fan of the trademark celebration being made use of by Blancos star Jude Bellingham across the season to date.

Midfielder Bellingham, of course, is currently in the midst of the most remarkable of debut campaigns in Spain’s capital.

Since swapping Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund for Real last summer, the England international has taken to La Liga football like a duck to water.

All told, in 29 appearances across all competitions for Carlo Ancelotti’s troops, Bellingham has managed to find the net on no fewer than 20 occasions.

And this has provided the one-time Birmingham City sensation with ample opportunity to make use of his now widely-recognised celebration.

As much sees Bellingham take his place front and centre in the view of the crowd, before spreading his arms high and wide:

Simplicity itself.

And yet, some have nevertheless managed to find fault with the actions of the midfielder, amid the insinuation that his celebration is disrespectful and perhaps a touch arrogant.

One individual who couldn’t disagree more, however, as alluded to above, comes in the form of José Mourinho.

Speaking in an extensive recent interview with FIVE’s Rio Ferdinand, one-time Real Madrid boss Mourinho confirmed that he is a huge fan of Bellingham’s post-goal antics, which showcase ‘character’:

“When Jude Bellingham scores and opens his arms to celebrate, it shows character. It’s not arrogance, it’s just ‘here I am, I did it again’.”
