Jordi Cruyff, FC Barcelona’s sporting director, spoke before the La Liga match against Villarreal on Sunday and made it clear that the club are counting on Ansu Fati despite recent speculation over the player’s future.
“We think like the coach, we have a lot of confidence in the player. He is coming off the back of a very difficult year and sometimes it takes time and matches to get back to what he is. He has an extraordinary talent and everyone in football knows it. We have to wait for his time to come,” said Cruyff via Mundo Deportivo, where he also assessed the situation regarding Sergio Busquets’ contract renewal.
“Players like him [Busquets] have the right to decide their future without anyone pressuring them. The day he is clear about what he wants, he will let us know and the club will be delighted with whatever he decides,” added Cruyff.
