Jordan Henderson considering Saudi League offer

Liverpool midfielder and captain Jordan Henderson is considering an offer from the Saudi League this summer, according to The Telegraph.

The England international is subject to interest from Suadi Arabian side Al Ettifaq, and he is considering taking the offer for a big payday.

Henderson will decide his future shortly as he ponders whether to leave Liverpool and end his 12 years at the club. 

The Saudi club has not made any offer for the Liverpool captain. But the Reds are aware of the interest from the middle east. 

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is the manager of Al Ettifaq. He is leading the charge to sign Henderson, who has already seen his teammate Roberto Firmino move to the Gulf nation.

Several players have left Europe for the Saudi League, and more will follow. Henderson could be the next to accept the big payday in the middle east.

The 33-year-old still has two years left on his deal at the Merseyside club, but they are undergoing a midfield revamp, forcing the England international to consider his position.

Liverpool have already signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion for around £35 million. Also, they have added Austrian playmaker Dominick Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.

Both men will likely take starting spots and push Henderson down the pecking order. The former Sunderland man will consider these factors in his decision-making.

Also, Henderson must consider the impact on his prospects with the national team. The 2024 European Championship is on the horizon. 

If Liverpool receive an offer for the Sunderland-born midfielder, they will know he has given them the okay. It is unclear what Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will decide. Klopp might want to keep him after losing the experienced James Milner.
