As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Jérôme Boateng (35) is in Italy to meet with Salernitana officials as the German defender looks to finalise a move to the Serie A club.
Boateng has been without a club since July 2023, after leaving Lyon after two seasons. During his time in France, the German World Cup winner played 35 games across all competitions.
But in order to finalise a move for Boateng, Salernitana must first wait for Matteo Lovato’s (23) departure before making further advances to sign Boateng. A meeting is scheduled between the player’s representatives and officials from the Italian side for this afternoon as they work on finding an agreement.
Prior to joining Lyon in 2021, Boateng spent the majority of his career at Bayern Munich. The central-defender played 363 games across all competitions, winning nine Bundesliga titles, two Champions Leagues, while also being names German Player of the Year for 2016.
