As reported by Bild, Jeremie Frimpong is edging closer to a Bayer Leverkusen exit this summer.
The Dutch international has always been one of the leading candidates to leave B04 this season due to his €40m release cause. Frimpong has always refused to comment on his future, but if he is to move, it’ll be early on in the summer window.
As per the 23-year-old’s contract, his release clause must be activated before the start of Euro 2024 on June 14th. Should the €40m fee not be activated, clubs will have to negotiate a price which is likely to be above the 40 million mark.
Frimpong is contracted at B04 until 2028.
Currently, clubs including Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich have all expressed an interest in the winger.
Frimpong has been one of many standout players for Xabi Alonso’s side this season, who will officially lift the title this weekend at home against FC Augsburg.
