La Liga giants Real Madrid could be set to land not one, but two leading members of the history-making first-team setup at Bayer Leverkusen next summer.
That’s according to SportBild’s German football insider Christian Falk, who points towards Xabi Alonso and Florian Wirtz as the pair in question.
Tactician Alonso, of course, has long been tipped to take his managerial talents to Spain’s capital.
Amid what has proven a record-breaking campaign on the touchline at the aforementioned Bayer Leverkusen, the ex-Real Madrid midfielder has been earmarked as the ideal long-term replacement for Carlo Ancelotti.
A move for Alonso, as a result, is expected on the part of the Santiago Bernabéu brass in 12 months’ time.
And, should such an operation prove to be successful, Real could quickly secure for themselves one of world football’s standout young talents, too.
This comes amid fresh claims surrounding the possibility of Florian Wirtz making his way to Madrid.
Speaking in an interview on the mufcMPB YouTube channel on Monday, the aforementioned Christian Falk hinted that midfielder Wirtz, a leading target for the future at Real, could follow his manager in linking up with the La Liga champions:
“Regarding Florian Wirtz, there is an idea to leave together with Xabi Alonso in 2025 to Real Madrid.”
