AC Milan’s Rafael Leão (24) has been touted as Kylian Mbappé’s (25) potential replacement at Paris Saint-Germain, however, Luis Enrique has laughed off the recent reports.
Whilst Mbappé’s departure from PSG is yet to be confirmed, it is expected that he will indeed leave the club this summer, after informing club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he will not renew his contract beyond the end of the season. With the France captain expected to join Real Madrid, replacements are being touted.
PSG cooling Leão interest?
One name that frequently appears in reports is Leão. If the highly-rated Portuguese winger is a target for Les Parisiens, Luis Enrique will not let it be known. “Is he a singer? No, it’s a joke… I know who Leão is, but I don’t want to discuss a player that isn’t at my club,” reacted the Spaniard during a press conference on Thursday.
His comments come in the wake of a report from RMC Sport, who understand that Leão is no longer a priority target for the reigning Ligue 1 champions. It is thought that PSG may instead place their faith in Bradley Barcola (21) who has improved considerably as the season has progressed.
