The French national football team has had a successful start to the year, both on the field and in terms of TV ratings. On Monday evening, the Euro 2024 qualifying match between Ireland and France, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Les Bleus, drew an average of 8.07 million viewers (34.5% audience share) on TF1, according to Médiamétrie.
TF1 easily topped the evening’s ratings, ahead of the series “Meurtres au paradis” (3.47 million – France 2) and the film “Mes héros” (2.07 million – France 3).
Last Friday, the match between France and the Netherlands (4-0) had already attracted an average of 7.65 million viewers, with a 35.6% audience share.
The success of the French team on the pitch, combined with the strong TV ratings, bodes well for their chances of qualifying for Euro 2024. Les Bleus will now return to league action in their respective clubs before being reunited in June when they will face Gibraltar and Greece.
