Real Betis are set to continue their cost-effective recruitment strategy this summer, pursuing further free transfers. Since Manuel Pellegrini came to the role, Los Verdiblancos have only spent money on three players.
In this case, Fabrizio Romano claims advanced talks are underway to sign Copa del Rey-winning right-back Hector Bellerin. The former Arsenal full-back joined Betis on loan for the 2020-21 season, but after they could not accommodate his wages last summer, Bellerin signed for Barcelona.

He was expected to return to Betis this summer, with President Angel Haro openly declaring the door was open for him. Thus it was something of a surprise when he signed for Sporting CP in the January window in search of more minutes.
Ultimately though, it appears he will end up back in Seville this summer. Bellerin has frequently spoken of the connection he feels with Betis and their fans, and his demands are likely to be club-friendly.
