Inter Milan are keeping close tabs on Udinese playmaker Lazar Samardzic as they are keen to lure him to San Siro this summer.
As reported by FC Inter News, the Nerazzurri have been locked in negotiations with Udinese and are exploring every avenue to strike a deal.
Having forked out €33 million for Davide Frattesi, Inter are reluctant to meet Friulani’s valuation of €25 million.
Therefore Inter are considering a player-plus-cash deal to mitigate the asking price of Udinese.
The Nerazzurri are planning to include young midfielder Giovanni Fabian as a makeweight, which would be of interest to Udinese.
Samardzic was a revelation in Serie A last season, catching everyone’s eyes with his incredible performances.
The 21-year-old racked up five goals and four assists in 37 league appearances, and his eye-catching stats place him among the best central midfielders in Europe.
Having said that, the demand for the Serbian youngster is also higher, with fellow Italian rivals Napoli and Juventus keeping tabs on him.
Inter would have to act faster if they were to land Samardzic due to heavy competition for his signing.
The former Hertha BSC star also recently downplayed the exit speculation, stating that Udinese is an ideal place to grow.
Samardzic also showed his class in the latest pre-season friendly against his former club RB Leipzig, finding the nets to lead Udinese to a 2-1 victory.
Inter have been among the most productive sides in the transfer window, snapping up Marcus Thuram, Davide Frattesi, Yann Bisseck and Juan Cuadrado.
They are working towards signing a new goalkeeper as a replacement for Andre Onana, with Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer nearing closer to San Siro.
Inter have ditched their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku after learning that the Chelsea attacker prefers a move to Juventus.
They are now exploring his alternatives, with Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun high on the wishlist.
