While airing on Sky Sport Italia, via La Gazzetta dello Sport, football pundit and Inter legend Giuseppe Bergomi provided his perspective as to what has led to the recent decline of the Nerazzurri throughout the past several seasons.
Since winning the Scudetto under Antonio Conte in the 2021/22 campaign, the Benemata have failed to maintain consistency and their competitive status has begun fading away in a very apparent matter within very little time.
To date, Inzaghi’s squad currently sit in second place with 47 points, 18 points adrift of the league-leaders Napoli and have endured a total of eight losses in 26 games-played, which is exactly twice the amount of losses Inter have undergone throughout the entirety of last year’s campaign.
“Players know that for 3 years, in turn, one ends up on the transfer market,” Bergomi commenced while on Sky Sports. “In my opinion, it has a lot of impact. Three years ago they win the Scudetto and normally you insert 1-2 pieces to confirm yourself and improve in the Champions League. Instead, there are more transfer market sessions happening than Inter should be making. I don’t know what problems the club has but this affects when you have to team up.”
