Iñigo Martínez continues to train alone as he continues his recovery from a foot injury, report Marca.
The 31-year-old has spent most of this season on the sidelines. He is currently recovering from plantar fasciitis, a foot injury which results in pain in his heel every time he takes a step. Players in the past, including Santi Cazorla during his time at Arsenal and Juanmi, had to undergo surgery in order to aid their recovery.
Martínez is training alone at the moment and is not expected to be able to play for at least a couple of more weeks.
There is a great deal of uncertainty over the Basque defender’s future at Athletic Club. Martínez’s contract is set to expire in June and he was linked with a move to Barcelona last summer. He is yet to arrive at an agreement with the Basque side’s board regarding an extension and as things stand he will be a free agent at the end of the season.
