With his contract set to expire in the summer, Leroy Sané’s future at Bayern Munich remains up in the air.
Speaking after Bayern’s 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, the club’s board member for sport, Max Eberl, was full of praise for the 29-year-old, but insisted that no decision had been made regarding his future.
“I think Leroy played very, very well. He did a very, very good job both offensively and defensively. We know what we have in Leroy,” Eberl told TZ.
“We’ll do our job, and if we think it’s the right thing to do for Leroy, we’ll do it. If we don’t think it’s the right thing to do, we won’t do it. Those are the discussions we are having with Leroy and his agency.”
Clubs from Spain and England are said to be interested in signing Sané on a free transfer, putting pressure on Bayern to make a decision soon on whether or not to offer him a new contract.
“We know he is available on a free transfer in the summer. But we want to make the decision actively,” Eberl said.
