Iago Herrerín is set to join Valencia, according to Tribuna Deportiva.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper, who is currently a free agent, will sign a 1-year deal at Mestalla with the option of a second year (2024). He has been without a club since leaving Al-Raed this summer.
The former Athletic keeper has played a total of 77 top-flight games in Spain, according to the website Transfermarkt.
Jaume Domenech’s injury has left a gap in Gennaro Gattuso’s squad. Giorgi Mamardashvili is Valencia’s number one, but with Domenech’s absence, Valencia are set to land Herrerín as a backup.
After a year at Al-Raed, he is ready for one last adventure in La Liga.
