Florian Wirtz has looked back on his childhood, saying that he played football every day without any virtual distractions.

In an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Florian Wirtz talks about his love for football.

Looking back on his childhood, Wirtz says he played football every day. It was what he liked to do most, and there were no virtual distractions for him.

“I was on the football pitch every day,” Wirtz recalls.

“With my dad, with my sister, with my friends. We also had a small football pitch at school that we used to go to, even on holidays, because we could play in smaller teams.

“On some days when I didn’t have training, I would just play a little bit with the neighbors on the street. I was one of the few who didn’t have a Playstation at home. So I always had to do something else, even during school vacations. And I just loved playing football the most,” says the 20-year-old.
