Speaking to SPORT1, Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich was asked whether he could envisage Nico Schlotterbeck joining the Bavarians.
However, despite recent speculation over the Borussia Dortmund defender’s future, Kimmich avoided the topic and responded generally.
“I think Nico has made a good step overall. Especially when you see how he’s developed as a person, including in the national team.
“He’s growing into a leader. I often speak to him, and he’s really developed very, very well. He has always had the qualities.
“But, of course, he is now developing into a different [more experienced] role, especially within the national team.
“He’s now a regular starter – You take on a different role, and that role naturally brings with it different things you have to consider,” he said.
It was clear to see the 30-year-old midfielder wasn’t interested in getting sucked into discussing the latest news on the transfer mill.
