In an interview appearing in the Monday print edition of Germany’s Kicker Magazine, Danish international Jesper Lindstrøm spoke on feeling absolutely at home in Germany’s commercial and financial capital

That is, save for one thing in that happens to be sparser in landlocked Hessen.

Jesper Lindstrøm.

Markus Krösche and the Eintracht Frankfurt administrative team presently prepare themselves for a rough transfer window and subsequent offseason that will feature many departures. With some eight players out of contract after the season concludes, high-profile names such as Daichi Kamada, Evan N’dicka, and Almamy Touré are expected to depart. There’e also the matters of Dortmund loanee Ansgar Knauff and want-away striker Rafael Santos Borré.
The defending Europa League Champions and current Champions’ League participants thus find themselves staring down a comprehensive rebuild once summer hits. Julian Franzke of Germany’s preeminent footballing publication at least had the chance to grab the take of a professional very happy to be a long-term part of the SGE. Versatile Danish attacker Jesper Lindstrøm has thrived in the Rhein-Main metropolis.

Collecting 12 goals for Eintracht has helped the 22-year-old quadruple his estimated market worth, now up to €28 million since his arrival from Brøndby IF in the summer of 2021. The nine-times-capped Danish international has unquestionably blossomed for the SGE. As an integral part of Oliver Glasner’s high-octane attack, Lindstrøm is off to a fantastic start for his club this year. He’s netted eight goals and registered two assists across all competitions.

Lindstrøm credited the club with his development.

“When I came to Eintracht, my level was okay, but I often lacked the finishing touch,” Lindstrøm noted, “Things keep improving. Not just for me, but also for the squad as we continue to get accustomed to each other. The headlines always mention [Randal] Kolo [Muani], Mario [Götze], Daichi [Kamada] and myself because we score the goals. On this team, however, everyone fights for the team and the fans.”

Lindstrøm revealed himself to be completely on board with the club.

“We’re on the right track and have shown that we can beat any team,” Lindström said, “Frankfurt want to be a top team not only now but also in the future, measuring themselves against the top clubs every season. I’ll give everything to help this club make history. It would be wonderful if we could play two seasons in a row in the Champions League.”

Though Lindstrøm isn’t subject to the same persistent transfer rumors as his teammates. Every so often, however, there are links with still larger clubs that crop up. The rising star may be poised to make the jump himself at some point, though he did take care to emphasize Eintracht’s “fantastic team spirit” when asked about a potential move.

“I can’t say whether I’m going in the summer, next year or in ten years,” he answered, “But I do want to be loyal. I like Frankfurt and enjoy living in the city. My girlfriend likes it here. Rverythin is great in Frankfurt: the people, the shops, the restaurants. In addition, as a family man, I can fly home in an hour and a half. That’s an important factor.”

Asked if there was anything missing in Frankfurt that sometimes made him homesick, Lindstrøm replied that he and his girlfriend missed being able to head out to the beach at a moment’s notice. Should Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, or even southern English clubs wish to recruit the Dane, they might do well to recall what the player likes.

“If only there were a few more beaches here,” Lindstrøm lamented, “In Denmark we have beaches everywhere and we like to go swimming.”
