The ongoing negotiations to bring Dynamo Dresden striker Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer to 2. Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV have reportedly reached a conclusion. German tabloid Sport Bild reports that HSV sporting director Jonas Boldt has upped his offer by €350,000. Recently relegated Dresden are set to net €1.2 million for the player.

Hamburg’s pursuit of the Germany U21 international pushes the total transfer outlays of the second division side to just over €7 million this offseason. The signing of loan players Mario Vuskovic (€3 million) and Miro Muheim  (€1.5 million) as well as the László Bénes capture ( €1.5 million) constitute a new record for a 2. Bundesliga side.

Boldt is evidently serious about ensuring that his former top tier mainstay–consigned to a fifth consecutive season in the second tier after coming up short in this year’s promotion-relegation playoffs–will be well-stocked to finally return to the top flight. The HSV became the last original Bundesliga team to ever get relegated following the 2017/18 campaign.

Königsdörffer, a player with an estimated market worth of €1.3 million, is considered an excellent developmental prospect. The 20-year-old scored five goals and chipped in five assists for the SGD last season.
