Héctor Bellerín gave his first interview as a Barcelona player to the club’s official media.
The Spaniard joined his boyhood club following a free transfer from Arsenal:
“It’s one of those things that you think that one day you’ll have the opportunity to experience. I’ve had opportunities before, but for various reasons it never happened, and it’s been one of the years I least expected to come here. I’m very excited to be back home.”
Bellerín reflected on his career before re-joining Barcelona:
“I can’t compare the 16-year-old who left with the 27-year-old who’s coming back. I’m very proud and very grateful to everyone I’ve met over the years while I was away as they’ve made me the person I am today. A very different person is coming back with different ambitions, but with a lot of desire and the same enthusiasm to play football. Now I’m looking forward to getting to know my new teammates and start training as soon as possible. I came here to compete for everything.”
