Speaking after Bayern Munich’s 5-2 win against Darmstadt on Saturday, Thomas Tuchel provided an update on Harry Kane’s injury.
After a goal and an assist in the win, Kane was forced off with an injury after colliding with the goalpost. Tuchel provided an update on the 30-year-old’s situation: “He collided with the post and twisted his ankle a bit – he had his ankle iced. There’s still no diagnosis, we have to wait. I hope it’s nothing bad”
Kane’s goal in the Darmstadt game was significant as it was the first time he had ever scored more than 30 goals in a league season as he moved on to 31. Whilst he also becomes the first-ever player to score more than 30 goals in their first-ever Bundesliga season.
Depending on the severity of the injury, Kane could miss the upcoming international break for England where they play Belgium and England. The 30-year-old is also still currently on the hunt to break Robert Lewandowski’s goalscoring record of 41 goals in a season and with eight games left for Bayern, the chances are looking less and less likely with difficult games on the horizon against Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart.
