Hamburg are set to make a double swoop for Arsenal players Sambi Lokonga and Fabio Vieira. Lokonga has already completed his medical with the results expected this morning before finalising a permanent transfer, and now Sky Germany add that HSV are in talks to sign Vieira on loan. However, they face competition from West Ham to sign the Portuguese playmaker, who spent last season on loan at FC Porto.
Fellow Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart had also shown interest in signing Vieira as a replacement for the departed Enzo Millot, but were unable to find an agreement with Arsenal who wanted €30m for the midfielder.
It would be the second time Hamburg have turned to the Premier League in the last few hours after signing Luka Vuskovic on loan for the season from Tottenham Hotspur. Should HSV sign Lokonga and Vieira, that would likely conclude the transfer business with the window in Germany closing at 19:00CET.
