Sky Germany reports that Hamburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach are two of the clubs interested in Southampton’s Armel Bella-Kotchap.
Since joining from Bochum in 2022, Bella-Kotchap has suffered two relegations with the south coast club, and it is clear that he wishes to leave Southampton and return to the Bundesliga as he wants to try and assert him self for the Germany squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The 23-year-old’s contract runs until 2026, but due to a clause, the contract can be extended until 2027. Hamburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach join Anderlecht and Udinese as teams interested in Bella-Kotchap.
Due to the length of his contract, if the defender is to leave Southampton this summer, he will cost €10m.
A potential is that this price tag could make the 23-year-old unattainable for both Bundesliga sides, as Hamburg have only just been promoted and have already invested in their defence with the arrival of Jordan Torunarigha while Gladbach are working on a sell-to-buy approach, and have yet to sell anyone major this summer.
