It was previously reported that the release clause in Serhou Guirassy’s contract with Stuttgart would expire at midnight.
However, Sky Germany now claims that the release clause has in fact already run out, meaning that interested clubs will have to agree a fee with Stuttgart in order to sign the striker.
As a result, the chances of Guirassy staying in Stuttgart have increased considerably.
Guirassy has been linked with clubs in England, with Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and West Ham United all thought to be interested.
He spent last season on loan at Stuttgart from Rennes and was subsequently signed on a permanent basis.
