Leon Goretzka might be playing his last season in a Bayern Munich jersey.
According to Sport Bild, the 28-year-old midfielder is considering a move away from Munich.
The report claims that Goretzka’s clear goal is a move to the English Premier League.
Whether he favors a club there or if talks have already taken place is left open by the German publication, but he has previously been linked with Manchester United and West Ham.
Goretzka has recently lost his place in Bayern’s starting lineup to Raphael Guerreiro and has started both of their games in 2024 on the bench.
“It wasn’t a decision against Leon, it was a decision for Rapha,” Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel said on Goretzka’s role at a press conference on Tuesday.
“Leon accepted it in a totally team-friendly way. Rapha gave us no reason to take him out. But that doesn’t mean we don’t trust Leon. Leon is fully part of the competition in midfield. He will play his games, and we need him.”
Goretzka’s contract with the German champions expires in 2026.
